NATURAL BORN SELLERS...WERE THEY?
Natural Born Sellers was aired on Thursday 9th October 2008 and featured Conservatory Outlet’s West Yorkshire Windows. The existing sales force was replaced for four days with a team of 8 ruthless professionals from ITV’s latest TV reality show, Natural Born Sellers. But were they?
Taking centre stage at West Yorkshire Windows was Danny, a used car salesman from Essex; Thea, a brash no-nonsense career woman and 6 other contestants, all operating under the careful eye of West Yorkshire Windows managing director Andrew Glover. Entrepreneur John Caudwell was also on hand to referee proceedings to ensure there had been no rules of sale broken.
Andrew comments: “Some of the contestants were of the hard sell school, so we had to keep them on a tight leash given that we don’t endorse this type of selling at West Yorkshire Windows. Gone are the days of the traditional image of the double glazing salesman and the most successful ones in today’s industry are often those taking a softer and more measured approach. With over £200,000 of sales in four days the evidence suggests that some are natural born sellers, but we’ll leave the hard sell to Danny!”
The eight contestants had just 8 hours to learn the double glazing trade, but thanks to the additional marketing support materials from Conservatory Outlet, each contestant was comfortably able to do their pitch and close some big deals. This competitive environment showed the value of each lead and through considerable enthusiasm, some great support materials and an impressive product range, conversion rates can be very high as the contestants demonstrated.
