THE INDUSTRY SPEAKS AT GLASSEX 2009
Delivering practical solutions for fabricators and installers
Imagine a place where open debate and issues relating to the glass & glazing industry are put under the microscope in a series of cutting edge, topical seminars and presentations, giving visitors and exhibitors the chance to tap into the key issues affecting their businesses. Glassex ’09 has reinvented its popular seminar offering to become more interactive with its visitors, not to mention more visually appealing, by combining it into the Glassex Forum, allowing visitors to easily take on board information as and when they choose over the course of the three day event.
Located in a central position at the show, the Glassex Forum will become an integral part of the exhibition providing the perfect platform for leading industry experts to voice their opinions and cover a range of topical issues facing the fenestration industry. In turn the visitor will come away with practical advice and real-life solutions that can be applied instantly to their business.
Over the years the seminar programme has always delivered real value and has played an important part in the show’s format. Highlighting it as a major central theme at the 2009 exhibition is a natural progression that will undoubtedly increase accessibility to all. But it does not stop there, seeing the format specifically themed towards and supporting fabricators and installers in such troubled times.
“We want visitors to experience a buzz at Glassex 2009, and to come away with practical ideas and solutions that can be applied to their business as soon as they return,” comments Dave Broxton, Glassex Event Director. “The Forum is one feature that will unequivocally do this by dealing with the issues affecting all of us, openly and candidly over the duration of the show. By combining the seminars and presentations together, and making it the core of the show we are giving more visitors the opportunity to get involved and take what they want from the event.”
In another first there are plans to stage Dragons’ Den-style commercial breaks, in which exhibitors will be given the opportunity to showcase new products and services. On a first come first served basis exhibitors will be offered a 10-minute presentation in the forum area, which will take place in between the seminar presentations. This will be timed and participants must make their presentations as appealing as possible to impress or even survive what is always a discerning Glassex audience.
“There will be no better way to get yourself noticed and for those companies wanting to take part in the programme and commercial breaks this year, the more professional, informative - and entertaining - their presentation is, the more successful they will be! This is a chance to really push key messages out to your key target audience…and the reward will be to reach the industry’s buyers when they are looking to invest in new products and ideas,” concludes Dave.
The seminar programme will follow three broad themes: selling; retailing; and manufacturing and will include key presentations on:- - Sales techniques for the 21st century / Selling in a recession
- - Website development and application
- - Internet sales lead generation and response
- - Traditional sales techniques / the pros and cons / are they still effective
- - Showroom technology and sales aids / is it effective as it should be
- - Green marketing / green sells
- - Manufacturing efficiencies
- - Finance and the credit crunch
- - Cost cutting / tricks of the trade / what to cut and how
- - Recycling put money back in your pocket and sell more
