New brochure out now
“Quality products that don’t cost the earth” is the strapline to the glossy new UAP brochure jam-packed with images and information on all your favourite – and soon to be favourite - hardware products.
Not costing the earth is of course first of all reflected in the great value for money prices that you always get from UAP.
Second, UAP has gone to great pains to substantially reduce its carbon footprint – including printing only a minimum quantity of these brochures, while increasing the availability of electronic information in the form of emailable and downloadable PDFs as well as direct access via the website. The fewer trees cut down the better. Which brings us to:
Third, to further help offset the necessary evils of manufacturing, transport, and packaging, UAP is funding the planting of 50,000 native species trees in Thailand (see page 6) in an area deforested by farming and logging.
While UAP’s existing printing and packaging materials are recyclable and from sustainable sources, it is obviously better to not to fell any trees if it can be avoided as they absorb masses amounts of carbon as they grow. This is the reasoning behind the Thailand forestry project as the native hardwood trees grow slowly and will still be helping to recycle the air long after we have gone.
Take a look at the brochure itself (PDF download available here, printed version by request). In it you’ll no doubt find out lots of things you didn’t know. For instance, were you aware that UAP’s Anti-Vandal Letterplates are eco-friendly? Bet you didn’t, (but you’ll have to go to page 9 to find out how); that our White on White Letterplates have a UV-stable frame; that we have Solid Door Restrictors for those with limited hand movement or arthritis? Good leader product to get in with social housing and care home groups, as well as retirement home builders.
You’ve heard about lock bumping from our Pickbuster and Ban the Bump Key campaigns, but did you also know that we have Letterplate Restrictor Shrouds to stop the new crime wave of key fishing as well as an Identity Card Entry Slot so that a caller’s identity can be easily and safely verified before letting them in?
But our personal favourite has to be the Nanocoast ~ Resilient to salt air range. Salt spray tested to ASTM B117 for 2000 hours Nanocoast is the ideal door hardware to fit in any coastal area. And we have plenty of that in this country! In fact, ideally all door furniture within 15 miles of the coast is recommended – so that is plenty of scope and what helps to differentiate you from your competitors.
