H.B. FULLER WINDOW IMPRESSES AT GLASSTEC
H.B. Fuller Window is impressed at this year’s Glasstec. The international sealants and adhesives giant, one of the largest manufacturers of IG sealants in the world, demonstrated why it is one of the only manufacturers operating today that can truly claim to have a comprehensive product range for the IG industry.
Visitors to stand B41 (Hall 14) at this year’s Glasstec, learnt more about why H.B. Fuller’s two part Polysulfide secondary sealant PS 998R, in conjunction with its Polyisobutylene Primary Sealant PIB 969, is one of the most trusted sealant combinations on the market today.
They were also able to discover more about H.B. Fullers innovative Hot Melt range, including its premium products, HL-5147 and HL-5145, and about the firm’s plans for developing a range of reactive Hot Melts to revolutionise the market.
But perhaps most importantly, visitors to stand B41 learnt what lies at the heart of H.B. Fuller’s product innovation, its technical heritage and expertise.
Richard Sellman, Territory Manager for H.B. Fuller explains: “In 2006, the entire IG sealant activities of Henkel Teroson were integrated with H.B. Fuller Window’s operations in this field. The result of this is a technical team, and newly developed technical centre in Heidelberg, which outstrip any other in terms of credentials, capabilities and capacity.”
“The centre itself is equipped with real production lines, and modern market technologies to ensure that all products developed meet the needs to the manufacturer in the plant as well as on paper.
“Our state-of-the-art testing technologies on site have ensured we have produced a range which meets all essential regulatory requirements, from the environmental DIN EN ISO 14001:2004 standard, DIN EN ISO 9001:200 and ISO TS 16949:2002, to EN 1279.”
H.B. Fuller also prides itself on working in partnership with customers to develop products that meet distinct and sometimes specialist needs, whether this is a non-mercury based Polyurethane product such as PU-810, or a PIB based organic Thermosplastic Spacer (TPS).
This partnership philosophy is one of the key reasons for H.B. Fuller’s emphasis on product innovation and continuous development. Richard continued: “At this year’s Glasstec, we wanted visitors to really get ‘under the skin’ of the company as this is the best way to really find out why we have been in business for 120 years.
“The fact that a third of our current sales have been generated from products developed in the last five years, for example, really demonstrates H.B. Fuller’s fundamental nature as an innovator. These are the kinds of messages we want to communicate and what better place to do it that at Glasstec.”
