HWL Trade Frames invest for the future
Leeds-based company HWL Trade Frames recently invested in Haffner GB’s SBA Machining Centre. Given current market conditions, many may question the company’s decision to invest, but HWL Trade Frames felt that the economic environment demanded a bold response. In HWL Trade Frames’ case, that meant making an investment to automate production and increase efficiency to combat the increasingly tough conditions.
Philip Langton, HWL’s Director says the decision is already proving to be a wise one, not least because one machine does the work of five members of staff. Philip says, “It was a difficult decision to invest, especially when every other company is trying to save money, but I believe you have to speculate to accumulate. Since it was installed in September, the machine has already shown an immediate return by increasing efficiency, improving quality and reducing overheads. Not only that we can clearly see that it will continue to save us money in the longer term too.”
The Haffner machine was the only machine on the market that met HWL’s capacity demands, which made the choice a relatively easy one. But Haffner’s pre-sales work demonstrated exactly what savings HWL could expect to make in the short and longer terms, meaning the company could invest with confidence, certain that the choice was the right one for them.
HWL Trade Frames are based in Leeds and have a customer base that stretches from the North East to London. Despite the tightening market, the company remains busy. Everyone at the company is confident that the SBA Machining Centre’s efficiency and ability to produce consistently high quality results means they will be able to compete no matter what the market conditions.
