Rockdoor awarded £3.6 million contract by One Vision Housing
Leading composite door manufacturer Rockdoor has been awarded a £3.6 million commercial contract to supply 12,000 doors to One Vision Housing. Work will be carried out over three years to be completed by 2011. One Vision Housing was created in 2006 to take over all the housing stock of Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council. The project is part of a £200 million programme to bring its houses up the Decent Homes standard.
Rockdoor is supplying up to 100 doors a week which are being installed by Connaught and Kier. Rockdoor is providing full on-site installation training to both companies so the doors are fitted to the highest standards.
Rockdoor was chosen by One Vision Housing because it offered security, longevity, build quality and aesthetics, and also showed outstanding performance during a Pilot Programme which tested doors before a supplier was chosen.
One Vision Housing’s Senior Project Manager Mark Howard says: “Rockdoor offers a high quality composite door which is easy to fit and maintain. One of our main selection criteria was build quality and hassle-free maintenance. Because Rockdoor is made from PVC-U it is more serviceable and durable than timber so it has better longevity and provides a better value product. Security was another major consideration and Rockdoor’s credentials mean residents have extra peace of mind.”
